Launch of On-Line Store & Give Away

Hello World!!!....or at least all of you in Blogland!

Today is like Christmas morning for me!  After much anticipation, anxiety and excitement, I am thrilled to launch my on-line store at HGMR Deco Quilting. I am starting with five patterns which I've designed over the last few months using Jenny's amazing Quick Curve Ruler!

So, how did I get to this moment?  One day I had an epiphany that I should create patterns for all these quilts that are always floating around in my head.  I realized these ideas could be more than just 'one hit wonders' if I created patterns for them.

So here we go!  It's time to get out of my sewing room and into your sewing room.....

To celebrate this happy day I'm giving away five of my new patterns.  To enter the give-away leave a comment, for a second chance to win, blog about it on your blog and link back to my blog.  Yes, I know that's a lot of blogs...Lol (Winners will be randomly drawn on Monday, October 1)

........AND MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!

Special thanks to my pattern testers, to all my fellow quilters who inspire me every day, and finally to my amazing sister Jenny -you are always a bright spot in my life, love you.

Newest Quick Curve Pattern - Deco Zig Zag

Two years ago Jenny  gave me some fabric for Christmas.  She sent me 12 half yard cuts of a great 'Asian' line.  I don't know the name of it so if anyone does please tell me. I made a great zig zag quilt with it, and afterwards I had a little of each piece left over that I stashed away for another project.

A month ago I was playing around with the Quick Curve Ruler and came up with a block that I thought would make a great quilt.  I rummaged and searched for awhile until I found my bits of  'Asian' prints that I knew would work great with it.  I added some Kona Cactus and a great graphic print border and Deco Zig Zag was born!  I love the variety of prints, the motion from the layout and the quilting design.  All the elements work well together to make it one of my favorite quilts!

This pattern is being tested and should be available within a couple of weeks. When  I create a quilt, I make notes about the process and then I write up the pattern so it is always an adventure to see if the pattern makes the quilt I think it should. :-/

Tic Tak Deco - Quick Curve Ruler Pattern

I wanted to share one of my patterns that is currently being tested.  This quilt is called Tic Tak Deco.  It uses the Quick Curve Ruler to make these great curved pieced blocks that create this great design!  I used some much loved fabric from my stash and Kona's 'snow' for the white background fabric.  I quilted an all-over free-hand semi-paisley design.  This pattern combines the curved blocks with classic four-patch blocks to create a quilt that has different layers of design.

Lori, at Night Owl Quilting is one my pattern testers for this quilt.

Thank you Lori for helping me with the pattern!

Deco Tumbler- new pattern using the Quick Curve Ruler

Today I am revealing my newest pattern, Deco Tumbler.  It is made using the Quick Curve Ruler, four focus fabrics and one background fabric.  I quilted two different fillers.  On the solid green blocks I quilted a curved column of spirals with filler on the sides and the other blocks have a modern pebble filler which gives great texture.  The pattern is currently being tested and it will be available soon.

I love this pattern!  It works up fast and has great motion because the curves change direction with each row.  This is a "happy" quilt.  If you haven't tried the Quick Curve Ruler yet this is a great quilt to start on.  Each block has only one curve and the double curve effect is achieved by how it is assembled.

Customer Quilts

Most of my time these days is spent designing quilts and writing patterns, but I also love to long-arm, and I finished some customer quilts in the past two weeks that I wanted to share.

This is Lori's t-shirt quilt that is adorable.  All the t-shirt material was backed with fusible interfacing which made it a joy to quilt!  There are some great fabrics in this quilt.

This is my niece's quilt which Grandma pieced and I quilted for her wedding which was last weekend.  It has fun bright colors and I quilted a modern feather and wavy lines in between.

Toni used great fabrics and it looks great with a feather motif and pebbles that show off the fabrics and pattern.
